What is PACAP-27?

A neuropeptide of the VIP/secretin family with strong anti-apoptotic signaling in islets. It can enhance insulin secretion and protect pancreatic beta cells from inflammatory and oxidative injury.

Key Benefits & Mechanisms

anti-apoptotic signaling

insulin secretagogue effect

reduced ER stress

islet cytoprotection

Research Summary

PACAP-27 has been repeatedly shown to support beta-cell survival through cAMP/PKA and related pathways. In experimental models it mitigates cytokine damage, preserves insulin content, and helps maintain islet viability.
